We are looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to join the BD & Marketing team to proactively drive activities and initiatives that support the firm in profitable new business generation; in the effective growth of its key client and referrer bases; and in the development of its profile in its chosen markets.

Reporting to the Director of BD & Marketing, the Senior Business Development Executive will focus primarily on developing external partnerships and referrer relationships for Private Wealth (the holistic presentation of the firm’s Family, Tax & Estate Planning, Residential Property and Media & Privacy teams). The individual will be focused on identifying, building (and supporting lawyers in doing so), and leveraging relationships with relevant organisations and alliances (through, for example, product tie-ups/joint campaigns with intermediaries, business networks, and relevant trade associations) that widen our contact pool and create valid leads for our teams. The role holder will also be responsible for steering and growing the BD activity of the firm’s multi-disciplinary Media, Art & Culture group and Owner-Managed Businesses group.
New business generation
Support fee earners in identifying defined prospects fitting an agreed criteria
Reinforce value propositions to prospective audiences, through communications and the education of fee earners
Working with BD Manager and Director of BD and Marketing, agree and implement the go-to-market approach to BD for agreed areas of focus
Undertake research on prospects and clients within agreed audiences/areas of focus
Support fee earners ahead of prospect meetings
Support fee earners in the follow up of prospect meetings, utilising available materials to ensure continuing contact through to securing initial instruction
With BD Manager agree suitability of tender opportunities, and co-ordinate the production of the firm’s response documentation (and presentation, if applicable)
Seek debrief information following proposal submissions to establish why the firm won or lost, and feed back to fee earners (both informal and formal debrief, as appropriate)
Provide guidance and support for fee earners to market and cross-sell the firm’s wider services to clients
To meet regularly with BD teams, leading sessions to review and plan activity
Client & referrer relationship development
Co-ordinate the construction and execution of plans for the management of/ongoing engagement with key clients and referrers
Support collection of client & referrer feedback and utilise insight to better the experience we provide as a firm
Undertake any other relevant activity or initiative with clients and referrers that directly supports new business generation
Effective account management and strategic planning with chosen external partners (such as the Women’s Chapter and The Courtauld gallery).
Work with fee earners and the wider BD & Marketing team to construct and implement annual and ad-hoc campaign/marketing plans (including communications, collateral, events, PR, social media)
Establish and maintain boilerplate copy and case study repository for credential document production
Contribute to the production of the firm’s directory submissions
