Please join Collyer Bristow’s Financial Services team for an in-person breakfast seminar to discuss the latest in the sector, including claims that may arise from the FTX bankruptcy, regulatory reform and the recovery of cryptoassets.
Robin Henry, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution Services, will look into claims arising from the FTX bankruptcy.
Nigel Brahams, a Partner in our Corporate and Financial Regulatory teams, will look at regulatory reforms around cryptoassets.
Guest speaker Racheal Muldoon is a leading commercial barrister and member of the Commercial Team at the 36 Group. She will present on the civil recovery of cryptoassets, including cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) drawing on her experience appearing before the High Court of England and Wales.
The session will cover interim injunctions, worldwide and domestic freezing orders, and disclosure orders, with a focus on the nuances of making these applications in the context of the blockchain and the practices of international cryptoasset market participants, including exchanges and marketplaces.
Racheal will speak in particular to D’Aloia v (1) Persons Unknown (2) Binance and Others [2022] EWHC 1723 (Ch), the first contested cryptoasset matter and first reported case of a court outside of New York granting permission to serve by NFT.
