Collyer Bristow has announced five promotions across the firm, two new Partners and three new Senior Associates, recognising the firm’s ongoing growth and demonstrating a strong commitment to developing internal talent.

Law firm Collyer Bristow has announced five promotions across the firm, two new Partners and three new Senior Associates, demonstrating the firm’s strong commitment to further growth and to developing internal talent.
Samara Dutton and James Cook are to become Partners in the firm’s Private Wealth offering, focusing on Contentious Trusts and Probate and Tax and Estate Planning work respectively for the firm’s client base of wealthy individuals and families.
Charlie Fowler is to become a Senior Associate, also in Private Wealth, whilst Mette Marie Kennedy and Chandni Rani are both to become Senior Associates in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, focused on both contentious and non-contentious.
Commenting on the promotions, Daniel Simon, Senior Partner at Collyer Bristow said: “We are delighted to recognise the very considerable talent at Collyer Bristow in this round of promotions. Samara Dutton is a trusts and estates specialist, focusing on all categories of trust disputes. She acts for both trustees and beneficiaries on breach of trust claims, applications for removals and other areas of trust administration and on cross jurisdiction matters. She also has a strong track record on contentious probate matters and challenges to wills. She is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), The Contentious Trusts Association (ConTRA), and the Property Litigation Association (PLA).
James Cook has enormous experience advising on all aspects of tax and succession planning, wills, disabled person’s trusts, lasting and enduring powers of attorney and Court of Protection Matters. He also leads ‘CB Entrust’, the firm’s dedicated will writing service offer for emerging wealth and entrepreneurial clients.
Charlie Fowler specialises in advising resident non-domiciliaries, onshore and offshore trustees and domestic clients on matters spanning pre-immigration planning, residency and domicile rules, offshore tax planning and UK wills and estate planning. Charlie also advises on various immigration matters, ranging from sponsor licence applications, citizenship applications, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas.
Mette Marie Kennedy focuses on both contentious and non-contentious IP advice. She has a strong and growing practice particularly in the fields of Media, Art and Culture, and has acted for artists, galleries, museums, private collectors and government bodies. Mette is also part of the firm’s art gallery committee.
Chandni Rani is also in the Intellectual Property team. Her clients include fast growing and ambitious businesses across a number of industry sectors, with her work focusing on copyright and trade mark passing off, and design and patent infringement cases.
