Choosing the right law firm is one of the most important career decisions you will make. We hope that you consider Collyer Bristow and just as your choice is pivotal to your career, so too are the decisions we must make. The trainee solicitors we select are key to our future, so we take considerable time and care in our recruitment process.
We are now accepting training contract applications with a view to beginning the recruitment process this summer. Please note: when applying for a training contract we require three documents: A completed application form (download here), your CV, and a covering letter. All three documents should be uploaded along with your application to be eligible for consideration.
If successful you will spend six months in four practice areas, working with a range of people from senior partners to more recently qualified solicitors. We do not have any mandatory seat requirements, but we encourage our trainees to get exposure to both contentious and non-contentious work throughout their training contract.
You will be encouraged from an early stage to take responsibility for your own files and participate in managing the client’s work. You will also be given opportunities to start developing your BD and networking skills.
Traineeships will be confirmed one year in advance of their start date and will be open to applicants qualifying under the LPC route. Applicants for traineeships will be confirmed two years in advance of their start date and we will be accepting candidates who will be qualifying under the new SQE qualification.
If you have additional needs and requirements due to a medical reason, disability or any other reason that may prevent you from completing the online application in its current format please contact our HR team to discuss alternative arrangements or provisions for you.
