We believe that we have a clear obligation and responsibility to serve the wider community’s needs. By doing so we fulfil the core values of our organisation and offer staff a sense of involvement and engagement with the community.

We are proud that our Charity of the Year, as voted for by our people, is Soup Kitchen London. This incredible volunteer-led charity provides hot meals, essential supplies, and access to vital support services for people experiencing homelessness and hardship across London. Beyond food, Soup Kitchen London helps individuals regain stability and dignity through advice, healthcare, and practical assistance.
Through fundraisers, sponsored challenges, office collections, and volunteering, we are committed to supporting their mission and helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of some of London’s most vulnerable residents. By working together, we hope to contribute to alleviating hardship and offering support to those in need within our local communities.

We have established a professional network called HigHer which elevates women and champions equality in the workplace. Driven by a diverse internal committee, HigHer supports women (both inside the firm and within our network of clients and contacts) in excelling in their careers through an annual programme of training and network events.

“I think sometimes women feel more constrained about promoting themselves and putting themselves forward than some of our male counterparts. And it’s nothing to do with ability, it’s just to do with having the confidence. And sometimes you need a bit of a nudge or push in the right direction to make your voice heard. And really, that’s what HigHer is about.” – Tania Goodman, Partner and Head of Employment.
Many of our lawyers and other non-legal professionals serve as trustees or directors for charities and institutions, including many in the field of performing arts.
A number of our lawyers provide free legal advice to members of the community who would otherwise be without legal assistance. At local law centres, evening clinics and the Citizens Advice Bureau, advice is given on housing, employment and family law problems.
Several lawyers also supervise BPP Law School students in their community legal advice clinics.
