Collyer Bristow is enormously saddened to share the news that Intellectual Property Partner, Tim Bamford, passed away peacefully this week following a short illness.

Tim was a much-respected lawyer and a masterful IP litigator, with the best interests of his clients steadfastly at the forefront of his thinking. He was a well-liked and valued colleague and we will miss him hugely.

Tim was a Partner at Collyer Bristow for 10 years. He joined the firm in 2014, helping to build and grow the reputation of the firm’s IP practise. Regularly ranked as a leader his field, Tim was well-known in the IP world for his sharp eye for detail, robust approach, and absolute dedication to his clients’ interests. He was also known for his many interests outside work, being a keen cyclist and hockey player as well, of course, for his considerable skills as a musician – regularly playing guitar at IP events.

Daniel Simon, Senior Partner, said: “Our thoughts are with Tim’s family at this very sad and difficult time. Tim had many strengths, not least his fierce intellect, integrity, and tenacity. He was a widely admired and respected lawyer, and he leaves behind an immense professional legacy. We will miss him terribly”.
