Key information

The changes to fees will impact a wide range of areas, including company and LLP incorporation and registration, registration of overseas entities, and filing confirmation statements. The full list of updated fees can be found on the Companies House website here.

The most significant changes are those for incorporating or registering entities. For example:

  • the fee for the incorporation of a company or LLP online will increase from £10 to £50.
  • the fee for the incorporation of a company or LLP (same day) online will increase from £30 to £78.
  • the fee for the registration of an overseas entity will increase from £100 to £234.

There also a number of fee increases that will affect existing companies. For example:

  • the fee for changing a company name online will increase from £8 to £20.
  • the fee for filing a confirmation statement online will increase from £13 to £34.
  • the fee for a same-day reduction of share capital will increase from £50 to £136.

The new fee rates are intended to fund the exercise by Companies House of its enhanced powers of investigation and enforcement introduced under the Economic and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA). The first of those enhanced powers took effect from 4 March 2024, with further additions set to be implemented over the coming months.
