Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Alex is a Partner and Head of Commercial Disputes at Collyer Bristow. He advises companies and their senior management teams on complex commercial disputes, and has a particular expertise in contractual disputes, reputation management, privacy and contentious data matters. He has extensive experience of managing significant litigation through to trial and resolving disputes through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Alex’s practice covers a broad range of commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, particularly those arising from unlawful termination and repudiatory breach, as well as negligence, defamation, breach of confidence, harassment, personal data and misuse of private information. He regularly advises clients on managing litigation risk, protecting reputation and resolving disputes where the legal issues are closely connected to wider commercial considerations.
He acts for a range of UK and international corporate clients across a variety of sectors, advising on significant commercial disputes and associated risks. He also advises high-net-worth individuals, particularly in matters involving reputation and privacy. Alex regularly acts for both claimants and defendants, giving him a broad perspective on the strategic and commercial considerations involved in contentious matters.
Alex takes a pragmatic and comercial approach to disputes, focusing on the outcome that best serves the client’s wider interests and is particularly experienced in disputes where legal, commercial and reputational considerations need to be managed together.
