Collyer Bristow has been ranked by The Times as one of the UK’s Best Law Firms, in its ‘Best Law Firms 2022’ guide recognising the firms most highly regarded by legal professionals.
The list of Best Law Firms is collated following a survey of legal professionals in co-operation with the independent market research company Statista. Statista publishes worldwide established rankings and company listings with high profile media partners, including lists of law firms in various countries around the world.
Collyer Bristow’s IP team was again recognised for its credentials in contentious and non-contentious matters, with the publication noting:
“This firm has a strong reputation for intellectual property work, covering protection of brands, negotiations over commercial agreements and litigation concerning patents, design rights, trademarks, copyright and confidential information. Its clients include Sanrio UK, the parent company of the brand Hello Kitty, Stannah Stairlifts and the engineering group Wirth Research.
Collyer Bristow’s intellectual property team has been busy with a broad range of contentious matters, many of which have an international element. Work has included acting for an American manufacturer of sterilising equipment used to combat Covid-19 in patent proceedings in Italy; acting for a US cookware manufacturer in trademark matters in the UK; and advising a French wine producer in a trademark dispute with a UK restaurateur.
Collyer Bristow has also been involved in pursuing “lookalike” producers for UK clients involving everything from gardening products to artisanal gin.”
