Abbie's work highlights

ACHIEVING A MULTI-MILLION SETTLEMENT FOLLOWING A SPA DISPUTE

We advised a pharmaceutical company who was party to a share purchase agreement (“SPA”) in relation to breaches of warranty by the guarantor to the SPA. We conducted the High Court litigation for the client and were able to achieve settlement prior to trial, following a successful mediation.

ADVISING ON CROSS-JURISDICTIONAL CIVIL LITIGATION CLAIMS

I worked as part of the global counsel team on several cross-jurisdictional civil litigation claims, comprising proceedings in the UK, Singapore, and Guernsey amongst others. The litigation concerned applications to wind up trust structures in offshore jurisdictions and various claims against the Trustee for breach of duty.

ADVISING ON THE INTERPLAY BETWEEN COMPANY AND TRUST MATTERS

I advised on a complex matter involving a group of family trust structures, the underlying assets for which comprised company shares. This required us to address the complex interplay between fiduciary duties of directors and trustees under Company and Trust Law.

LCIA ARBITRATION

We acted for an Italian distributor of medical equipment against a global medical technology supplier, in relation to a multimillion euro claim within the London Centre of International Arbitration (“LCIA”). The matter comprised numerous issues including breach of contract terms, breach of implied terms, and dispute as to whether the contract was relational. We advised the client and their Italian legal team and managed the arbitration process from inception to final hearing.
