Collyer Bristow has announced five promotions, including one new Partner and four new Senior Associates, across the firm’s Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution and Private Wealth departments.
Ragavan Arunachalam has been made up to Partner in the Corporate & Commercial team, and Raj Shah promoted to Senior Associate. In addition, Nichola Leach and Jonny Mitchell have been promoted to Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution practice, and Aidan Grant in the Private Wealth department. The appointments are effective from 1 June 2021 and demonstrate the firm’s strong commitment to growth and developing internal talent.
Ragavan has over a decade’s experience of Company Law matters and has been with Collyer Bristow since 2007. He advises on a variety of matters including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, insolvency turnaround and shareholders’ agreements and disputes. His clients range across sectors including media, fashion, commercial property, finance, and renewable energy. As Partner, he will continue to build upon the firm’s growing profile and reputation for complex Merger & Acquisition work, particularly where there is a Private Equity component.
Raj Shah specialises in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, data processing agreements and privacy notices, and assists clients in addressing and understanding the operational implications of the GDPR.
Aidan Grant advises on matters spanning pre-immigration planning, residency and domicile rules, international tax planning and UK wills and estate planning. In particular, his work focuses on working with high net worth clients with UK/US interests.
Nichola Leach specialises in commercial disputes and media and privacy claims. Her instructions principally involve breach of contract, fraud, and shareholder claims.
Jonny Mitchell specialises in banking & financial disputes, advising on disputes relating to loans and financial products, acting for both claimants and defendants.
Commenting on the promotions, Daniel Simon, Senior Partner at Collyer Bristow said: “We are delighted to recognise the very considerable talent at Collyer Bristow in this round of promotions. Collyer Bristow is a firm with huge energy and passion for its clients. We recognise that our clients often require complex, individual advice and so we continue to develop and grow our practices and lawyers to meet these demands whilst also laying foundations for our future growth.”
